Process and Quality

Sentinel Fabrication operates with a process-driven production model designed to reduce variability and deliver consistent functional outcomes. Our approach emphasizes controlled intake, deliberate execution, and verification appropriate for small-batch additive manufacturing.

  • All projects begin with a structured review prior to quotation.

    During intake, we assess:

    • Intended use and operating environment

    • Material suitability and constraints

    • Geometry, orientation, and print feasibility

    • Quantity and production scope

Projects that fall outside our defined capabilities are declined before pricing is issued. This ensures alignment and prevents downstream rework or performance mismatch.

  • Accepted projects are planned deliberately rather than queued indiscriminately.

    Planning considerations include:

    • Material selection and validation

    • Print orientation and support strategy

    • Thermal and environmental considerations

    • Batch consistency requirements

Production parameters are selected to prioritize functional performance and repeatability, not cosmetic optimization.

  • All parts are produced:

    • In-house

    • On enclosed FDM systems

    • Using defined material handling (TDS/SDS) and machine operation practices

We do not outsource production or distribute jobs across uncontrolled environments. This ensures accountability and consistency across builds.

  • All completed parts undergo inspection appropriate to their application and scope.

    Inspection may include:

    • Visual examination for defects or inconsistencies

    • Dimensional checks at critical interfaces

    • Fit or assembly verification when applicable

  • Throughout the process, communication is deliberate and factual.

    • Deviations or concerns are identified early

    • Material or orientation changes are discussed prior to execution

    • Lead time and scope adjustments are communicated directly

  • Our quality approach is based on:

    • Limiting variability through constrained capabilities

    • Selecting materials and processes appropriate to function

    • Applying review and inspection proportional to risk

  • Working with Sentinel Fabrication means:

    • Fewer surprises

    • Clear acceptance boundaries

    • Predictable outcomes for functional parts

It also means we may decline work that does not align with our process or quality standards.
