Process and Quality

Sentinel Fabrication operates a small, hands-on facility designed to reduce variability and deliver consistent outcomes. Our approach emphasizes controlled intake, deliberate execution, and verification for your unique product.

  • Additive manufacturing, similar to CNC machining, allows production of functional parts directly from a digital file. Unlike traditional manufacturing processes, it does so by building them layer by layer from specialized polymers calls thermoplastics.

Also referred to as 3D printing, FMD, or FFF, this manufacturing process is a unique and a rapidly growing sector of industrial manufacturing.

This approach eliminates the need for molds or specialized tooling, which reduces setup time and makes it practical to produce small batches, custom components, and complex geometries that would be inefficient or costly with traditional methods.

It enables faster iteration, lower upfront cost for low-volume production, and greater design flexibility.

  • All projects begin with a structured review prior to quotation.

    During intake, we assess:

    • Intended use and operating environment

    • Material suitability and constraints

    • Geometry, orientation, and print feasibility

    • Quantity and production scope

  • Accepted projects are appointed a service number [S-XXXX] for tracking.

    Planning considerations include:

    • Material selection and validation

    • Color

    • Thermal and environmental considerations

    • Required dimensional accuracy

    • Cosmetic finishes, if required

  • All parts are produced:

    • In-house

    • On enclosed FDM systems

    • Using defined material handling (TDS/SDS) and machine operation practices

We do not outsource production or distribute jobs across uncontrolled environments. This ensures accountability and consistency across builds.

All products are printed in the USA.

  • All completed parts undergo inspection appropriate to their application and scope.

    Inspection may include:

    • Visual examination for defects or inconsistencies

    • Dimensional checks at critical interfaces

    • Fit or assembly verification when applicable

  • Working with Sentinel Fabrication means:

    • Fewer surprises

    • Clear acceptance boundaries

    • Predictable outcomes for functional parts

It also means we may decline work that does not align with our process or quality standards.
